Workshop for ANYONE Wishing to Know More About

"Tapping into Grant Resources"

PROGRAM

If you have ever had a wonderful idea or project but could not get it going due to lack of funding then this workshop is for you. So pack up your ideas and come along and let a professional grant writer show you how to get funding.  Lea Campbell (BIO below) will walk you through the process.  She will even share funding sites with you and how to approach them for funds. All project ideas are welcomed!!

If you have wanted to convert your science program to microscale chemistry or simply need to update existing equipment and supplies the SCRMCC will be here to help you see it through.

Arrival, Registration and "Get Acquainted" Genecov Science Building Rm 200    Since participants will be encouraged to exchange ideas and possibly collaborate on grants, this time will be used help participants get to know    one another and find out those with similar interest.

BIO For Lea Campbell, Guest Presenter:

The guest presenter for this workshop is Lea Campbell who is former Director of Corporate Training at Baton Rouge Community College where she was responsible for designing corporate training and developing related grant funding. Ms. Campbell has also served from 1995-2001 as the Executive Director of the South Central Partnership for Environmental Technology Education (SCPETE) where she has been responsible for grant development and organizational management. SCPETE is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing leadership in environmental technology education through the development of partnerships between business, industry and community and technical colleges. SCPETE operations are primarily funded by grants. The funding for the establishment of the South Central Regional Microscale Chemistry Center (SCRMCC) at Tyler Junior College was provided through a collaborative grant effort directed by Ms. Campbell in 1997. Ms. Campbell, who holds a BS and MS in Mathematics from Eastern New Mexico University, has almost 20 years of experience as a teacher and administrator and fully understands the financial and time constraints facing today's educators and administrators.   Teachers from a Region VII Eisenhower Cooperative school should the Region VII Education Service Center for possible fee reimbursement.

Participants will receive a TJC Continuing Education completion of training certificate with the hours of training listed, and any certificates afforded them through collaboration with the Region Service Centers.

Lunch will be provided.

Participants are encouraged to register at least two weeks in advance to assist SCRMCC in planning.

Attendance is limited to 20 so be sure to register early.

Registration will be through the Tyler Junior College Continuing Education Department. Please see the Registration Form.  Region VII teachers should contact the Region VII Education Service Center.
